As Victorians, we are expected to be future leaders, in the future, we may do dealings with people of different cultures, ethnics and countries. To ensure everything goes smoothly, and we treat others with respect, we must be global-minded and have the ability to understand and respect others.
In my opinion, friends can have chats with each other about events happening around the world. Not only the serious current affairs, it could be about controversial events that affect us in every moment of our lives. It could spark off discussions like talks about Kony 2012 and its purpose.
I think one should lead by example to develop global-mindedness in people. If everyone is to know what's happening globally, of course as the kiasu Singaporeans we are. Our peers would also attempt to find out more about the world.
